Theo Auffret, a talented 27-year-old independent watchmaker based in Paris, recently presented the Tourbillon Grand Sport, a tourbillon timepiece with a contemporary character.
This model places the hours and minutes at the center of the sapphire dial with the second hand hanging over the open-worked steel tourbillon bridge at 8 o’clock.
At 4 o’clock a torque indicator provides a visualisation of the mainspring internal tension.
The 41 mm x 13 mm case is crafted from 316L stainless steel with an alternation of satin brushed and polished surfaces. The circular grained and polished bezel supports a domed sapphire crystal.
The entire watch, strap included, is characterised by shades of gray for an elegant monochrome effect. For improved readability, the hour and minute hands have been thermally blued to stand out against the other elements of the dial.
Decorated by hand, the manually-wound movement beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers an autonomy of 50 hours.
Only four pieces of the Theo Auffret Tourbillon Grand Sport will be produced. The price, including VAT, is CHF 133,000. auffret-paris.com
