H. Moser & Cie. released a new Streamliner model completely crafted from 5N red gold and equipped with the manufacturer’s automatic caliber with flying tourbillon.

The Streamliner Tourbillon Vantablack combines the warmly-toned precious metal with the deep black of the Vantablack dial.
Vantablack is an ultra-black coating considered the darkest substance of all, used in astrophysics in telescopes and by the army as thermal camouflage. Composed of vertically arranged carbon nanotubes, Vantablack is capable of absorbing 99.965% of light making this dial extremely dark.

The darkness is further accentuated by contrasting red-gold hands and indices. The hours and minutes hands are formed of two sections and feature inserts made from Globolight, a ceramic-based material that contains Super-LumiNova.
The one-minute flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock appears like floating in the middle of a black hole.

The 40 mm x 12.1 mm cushion-shaped case is water-resistant to 12 ATMs and offers optimal ergonomics thanks to an original design with no lugs on the case. The hollowed and satin-finished forms on the baseband are a nod to the traditional style of Moser cases.
The smoothly integrated steel bracelet with articulated links combines vertical brushed surfaces with polished ones.

Beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, the automatic HMC 804 caliber is equipped with a double hairspring designed and produced in-house by H. Moser & Cie.’s sister company Precision Engineering AG. Thanks to this pair of matched hairsprings, the movement of the point of gravity on each spring when it expands is corrected and the effect of friction is reduced, significantly improving accuracy and isochronism.

Skeletonised to reveal the mechanism beneath, the 18-carat red gold oscillating weight transfers the energy to the barrel via a bi-directional pawl winding system which reduces the time required to fully wind the watch and guarantees 72 hours of autonomy.
The H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Tourbillon Vantablack ref. 6804-0400 has a price of Euro 126,000.
