Norqain – Wild ONE TCS New York City Marathon Limited Edition

The New York City Marathon (currently branded TCS New York City Marathon after its headline sponsor Tata Consultancy Sevices) is an annual marathon (42.195 km or 26.219 mi) that courses through the five boroughs of New York City. It is the largest marathon in the world and one of the World Marathon Majors. The 2022 TCS New York City Marathon is scheduled for next Sunday, 6 November 2022.

As the Official Timekeeping Partner of the event, Norqain has launched the Wild ONE TCS New York City Marathon Limited Edition that incorporates the racecourse and an eye-catching black-and-white aesthetic.

Crafted from the family-owned brand’s proprietary NORTEQ material, created with Advisor to the Board Jean-Claude Biver and launched in September 2022 (you can read about it here), this high-performance watch is six times lighter than steel and 3.5 times lighter than titanium. 

This Wild ONE model stands out with a light grey outline of the racecourse through a black and grey map of New York City across the dial. The rectangular indexes are skeletonised and enhanced with a spot of X1 Super-LumiNova. The hour, minute and seconds hands are also skeletonised.

The 42 mm x 12.3 mm case, made of black NORTEQ material, features the innovative construction that distinguishes the Wild ONE models. Between the top and bottom case elements is a white rubber shock absorber that surrounds a titanium case that protects the Manufacture Calibre NN20/1.

This three-hand proprietary mechanical movement produced by Kenissi boasts a 70-hour power reserve and has a sturdy construction featuring a traversing bridge with two-point fixation. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), it is COSC-certified as a chronometer.

The sapphire glass on the caseback is printed with name of the event as well as the “LIMITED EDITION” and “ONE of 262” inscriptions.

Overmoulded with black rubber and stamped with the Norqain logo, the screw-down crown contributes to guarantee water resistance to a depth of 200 metres / 660 feet.

As with all other Norqain timepieces, this model also has a customisable Norqain plate that can be personalised with any engraving, such as the participant’s finishing time, a motivational phrase or the name of the charity they are running for.
